|Which advertising agencies and directors seem the best to you at this moment?
No one will satisfy ALL needs... There are exciting new designers coming up all the time!
Rethink, Strawberry frog, Peruse Archive and you will see plenty of great work out there.
Fallon, Crispin Porter Bogusky, BBDO New York, Mono, Mother, Kresselt Kramer, Human Ideas, and a few more.
There are many.

I don't keep up with agencies and directors who earn kudos for their work. Sorry.
I think Crispin Porter Bogusky's early work with the anti-smoking "Truth" campaign was very innovative and hard-hitting. It showed that a small regional agency with great creative could garner national attention and win accounts such Burger King and VW.
At this moment I have to applaud The Martin Agency and their creative television spots for accounts such Geico and FreeCreditReport.com. Again it shows a relatively small agency (out of Richmond, Virginia) can deliver big.
Result producing agencies. The economy dictates that no dollar be wasted. Research is more important than ever.
I would have to say one that post previous client’s reviews. I have had some agencies that produce D+ work (at best) and never follow through on promises or project commits. True, no company in their right mind will post a bad review, but you will at least know how high to raise the bar by previous reviews.
boone oakley, young & laramore, venables, tda
Right now, my favorite is Crispin Porter + Bogusky and their work this year with Burger King. They have shown an intuitive understanding of new media and how to use it to support a campaign.
