Have you ever played on the street or in the subway? How much did you collect each day?
At age 20 (1965), I played on the streets of Beruit, Lebanon. Earnings varied from 2 to 12 dollars. (Our rent was $40 a month.)
no
I tried once, and for an hour, i got 20 bucks!
Not yet!
No, I never have! But I admire people that do.
Yes I have. It was an event that was not accepting monetary compensation.
Yes, it's actually fun. I get paid by the city as well, so I have made up to $200 in a day for the duo.
anywhere from $20 to $100 but I never played for more than an hour or two
I've played the street a couple of times. I only made a few dollars, but it was a really vital experience. I felt very much so as a part of the city, as though I was a part of the city experience. I think it's important to connect on a very personal level with those who are exposed to one's music.
I played once downtown in Ottawa and we made 50 bucks:P Pretty good!
Nope
Yes, my first trip to Europe I went with only $100 in my pocket for a month.
I ended up busking in Endinbourough, Scotland. It was fabulous. I made 10-20 pounds a day (enough to stay in a hostel, eat, and still have some left to go to the pub).
I think I played the entire Bach solo flute partita (with repeats) at least 5 times a day.
I've played countless times on city streets across the east coast. I've made anywhere from $2 to $50 for sitting out there just strumming and singing like I usually do.
I have a Cool Uderground personality...
