i am not a begger to play on a street. so the question is not applicable for me.

No, it's just too damn hard to get the piano back up the stairs.
Yes, the best I did was in Toulouse, where at Christmas time I made about £130 in one day.
Haha! Once! My dear crazy friend Josh is a rediculously talented musician. Trumpet player first and foremost. In high school he was no less gifted and he played on the trains for money. Well one day we played hooky and he suggested we go into the city. (We lived in Queens, but for us that meant Manhattan. :D) I told him I had no train fare and he said he had me covered. On the way back, I discovered that the passengers on the F train had me covered and he wasn't going to perform unless I did...

I played in shopping malls when I first came out with my CDs. I used to play 4 hours and sold $500.00 worth of CD. I still perform at the markets and festivals.

ONly once! It was a disaster. Myslef and 2 other girls sang in the Paris Underground, cos we had no money left after a University exchange trip. We earned 10 francs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that bought us one loaf of bread and a banana each!!!
