How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?

Let them see with their own eye's, than we'll talk. I've dealt with a few record company's in the past some major some indie.... Roofied Resistance is currently recording under 1332 records in Boise,Id.

Well,its with anything your selling,you have to believe in the product,so the rest comes easy.

I'm selling myself right now...it was wonderful to be made a rock star, terrible when it was taken away...mostly I've had difficult experiences with business people...
I sell myself though youtube and music widget like sound-station and music services like tunecore. Tunecore handle putting your music or video in itunes and Amazon mp3 and etc.
Basically i stay away from labels. I might with all kinds of artist with story of starting and falling in the same year. I know what label do to and career. They can help you or destroy you. You will be under their control, you have to do what they say you can do or not do.
Rep's i don't full with rep unless their talking real money and my own rule that i will sit and do only.
Make the music accessable on the internet.
Record companies have their role in the industry but I have yet to find the right deal for me
I have a publisher in nashville for the most part the experience has been positive but everything moves low in nashville.
I dont have any experience of record companies. I largely try and promote my music via the internet, internet radio and local papers.

I sell compact discs of my music to people as an token of friendship...so they can see I'm inviting people to my home for coffee and cigarettes instead of booze/drugz. |
