How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?

Whohub

I think I represent my self well on the telephone.I get my own gigs,I think people trust me and I suppose they rely on my opinion of myself.
I try to make myself sound exciting, new and must listen to.

My experience with record companies and representatives? Er, no comment. Just kidding. I've had my share and still may discuss opportunities with others in the future. My experience has shown I did not need a record company or rep to get going and have success. My goal from the start was to keep ownership and creative control of all my music. Also, to make enough money to keep putting out music.

i have actually scared them half to death, others get rolled over by them, i dunno

Can't answer that right now, need to get a guy on that!

I've been advertising myself on Myspace, Blogger, Facebook, I try to inform those who deal with music that I deal with music. Recently I just sent in a couple my new beats to Jive Record's new Atlanta group Milange

I despises spamming people so i don't do it!!!
I have submitted music to KOCH, VIOLATOR, & many other labels!! Which I received nice letters or emails but it won't stop me!!! SIGNED OR NOT!!!

None

I`m my own interpret, producer and manager by Carabao Records Germany.

Never approached a record company. I made one instead.

I sell my music through the Internet and at concerts. My experience with record companies and their representatives has been "We're not interested".

I consider myself a singing actor. I am classically trained yet acting is as important to my performing as is beautiful singing.

At this point my work can really speak for itself. My attitude and the way I present myself is also a big part of what I do...that's a very important aspect and I understand that is just as big a part of it so I know what needs to be done.

I've never had an experience with record companies and representatives. However, I do promote myself as simply a good rapper.

I would rather not answer this as I am very jaded. Credit must be given to the fact that they are running a business.
