How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?
Our experience is zero, were searching and looking very hard and constant, to work with a record company or representative who believes in us, thats our main goal.
i just push
Like I said, we've been on the down low so far. A friend (who is a DJ/mixer and guitarist) and I are considering starting our own record label. Look out for Lukrayne Records, coming soon!
I use all avenues available to me to get my work to the people.Record companies in the U.K. suffer from 'followitis'.Not much artist development going on just alot of -'I heard label 'A' just had a hit album with artist '1' so we as label 'B' need to get our own version of artist '1' and give it a slight twist so we don't look like a bag of pirates...'I know,We'll call them, him or her - '2'!
Só gravações e distribuições independentes. Tudo feito por nós e pago com nosso dinheiro.
I haven't started yet. I just started my youtube channel... http://YouTube.com/ReeseeLambert
Well I return for a brief rest mostly because of sites like Myspace, these days its facebook, where i promote what im up to.
Record Companies experience good and bad i guess, they were a business like any other so you have to remember this.
Course having co-run SOS recordings and starting Airport Route i guess i have divided opinions
I sell myself and my music by sending my song to some web site for my fan to download, by playing my song on street, on air and performing at shows.
a lot of companies don't really like me so far haha, i've been told my beats aren't commercial enough, i've been told that my image isn't marketable, but its whatever fuck it
All you have to do is show them your 3 best songs have a good promo and make sure you have a lot of "friends" on myspace/facebook and a lot of plays on your music players.
Well I run a site catered to Hip-Hop producers called Bangin-Tables.blogspot.com. I use the site to promote my own project also..Youtube..Twitter..Facebook..etc...I make alot of viral videos to stay in people's eye.My experience with record companies has been alright but nothing has changed my life so whatever ...it's up to me to blow me up now.
I've only talked seriously to music representatives three times in my career, but I never take it too seriously; if that makes sense.
I don't really need or want what they can offer me. I would rather work on my own, do things how and when I want to do them, and let whatever comes, come.
I don't really feel like I have to distrust them or blow them off because I don't take them too seriously, so it's not really an issue for me.
Well i do it by internet, people, clubs, dj's.And what ive experienced that they all say they want somthing different and they got it?But there sound is all the same and speal about making you big...
I use every opportunity on the Net to post my music..
No experience with any record company or so
I sell myself based on my writing skills- and the quality of music I release. |
