What should be done to stop piracy?
Go back to the past, to acetate LPs !!! When you have a better answer, please be sure to inform me!
I was shocked to find Xerox copies of my printed music being sold by students and pirate copies of my CDs, too, but I could really do nothing except feel mildly flattered.
Just hope that the people who do that, realise that music is not something free.
You know, in this world, more and more materialistic, those people think that they have to pay just for things they can touch with their hands. Since music cannot be "touched", it doesn't represents for them something they have to pay for. And nowedays, it's possible to get, share and sell music without paying.
So... I don't know.... education could be one solution, learn more intensively to people that behind the music they listen to, there are some authors, some composers, who work often very hard to make people dream.
nothing!
The piracy of music is criminal activity that is often associated with other crimes. Organized crime is the foundation for the success of piracy and is a problem throughout the world. There is much to be said and done about it but we have to work through our governmental systems and until those systems work together in honesty and fairness we will not be successful in completely stopping it.
Better copyright education for young music lovers.
Awareness.
Alot of people dont actually relise that the artist is missing out on revenue, income to live on.
Awareness of this will do alot to minimise piracy.
In the field of classical music the piracy problem has special aspects. Quite often the publishers, labels and agents want too high fees for lisenses and in that way actually block spreading music of their authors and performers. They should be more flexible when giving a permission to perform music or utilise it in other way (radio, films, TV, etc.) in countries which are nor rich enough or where the culture does not enjoy adequate support (Central or Eastern Europe, for instance). The copyright holders should think not only of the financial result but also of their mission to improve the moral and cultural state of the society.
Sink their ships.
Piracy is difficult to prevent. Make sure you get credited and register your works
Stop selling parrots and crackers.
stop trying to stop it - it will always exist.
cant beat them - just find a fair way to join them!
Nothing. It's always been there. Don't you remember making tapes?
Can piracy really be stopped? The only way to stop piracy I think, is to police the internet better and raid the Sunday markets!!! Computers are too handy to copy music -maybe they should look at the equipment first!!!
it can't be done, just accept it and try and change people attitudes. One thing that hasn't diminished is live music, keep music live the MU used to say, AMEN!
Nothing. It's all about the music, man! No - seriously, well - make music more accessible. Stop releasing songs at different times in different countries. Stop suing the downloaders and go after the people who make these sites in the first place... |
