How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes?
Well when i start with the intro and work towards the bgm and parts i take every mood of the track and finalize on the track as to how it should end.Because even though my tracks are basic.I envision more instruments that needs to be added and vocals parts where i keep a time for the whole track.
It has to sound perfect,melodious,catchy,
When you just feel something inside and get like a light strong feeling. you get that? When somethings just perfect and know the song speaks for it self. You need to listen to your soul when it screames or not.
Until me & my band finalised the song & finished our recordings.
Another tough question to answer. I look at each song as a story. Once the song tells the story, I'm happy.
Sometimes you know imediately. Sometimes a song never gets finished.
if you ask anyone who makes music you never really feel like a song is complete, you always have a better idea after you finish something. i usually let a song sit in my head for a week or so, then i can make sure i want to release it.
When a new song is played the first time with other musicians. I may arrange a tune several times until I am satisfied.
I just know. Now someone else might say "she could have said this or that or done this or that" but the aren't writing my songs.. now are they?
when I listen to it over and over again, and I feel comfortable to say "it's done"!!!
When the complete song keeps on playing in my mind and there are no breaks.
When I hear that melody are spilling out !!!
I have stopped telling myself when a song is finished because it is always developing and manifesting into something else... The key for me is not to be stubborn about it and listen to where it is going, and support it...
When the message is suitable to the melody of the song.
When it has that certain vibe to it, when you just feel like you've done all you could, like you put your heart into it. Even if nobody else likes it, knowing I put my heart into it is enough. |
