How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes?
When you listen to it and you feel its done or not but ultimately you'll know!!
There's No Stopping Point... Im Never Finished
It is never done!!! But I now use my fans and close friends as a sounding board to tell me when I am done.
When i feel it. If i'm not feeling it in my blood.. it's because it's not good or not finished.
Instinctively/Intuitively.
I don't think I've ever said that's it for a piece, I always come back to it after a while and make some amendment to it.
When it feels right, when I am singing it and it don't come with some kind of flaw in its rhythm or the rime in words.
Nothing is ever finished, you just have to decide when it will serve it's purpose

to me it's always ends with a good mix when you can hear a great mix then you basically tell whether or not anything needs changing.a great engineer is key to a hit record but when u have a great melody concept hook and bridge they can basically say hot or not like monica's new record we did called one in a lifetime originally written for jennifer hudson the versus were written in a way to describe love from a angle but the hook draws u in then the chant delivers the knock out punch
amm well if i finish a song i sing it, if i dont like it how i have finish it then i keep on going and change stuff a bit to make it better.
I don't think a song is ever finished, when you give your piece some time to evolve with the changes, you'll find yourself asking why you didn't do this and that when you could. You just have to set down your foot when you're satisfied and content that this is the best you can do.
Thats the hardest part. im quite a perfectionist so usually i just have to just tell myself to stop working!
This is tricky because sometimes by adding something it takes away from the song or hurts the song in other words. I Believe you get better at this with TIME!!!
It depends on if I'm happy with it as the final product. |
