|What is your creative process?
I would say if i had one it would be based on transitions and adaptaions we go through our entire lives as expressed through the seamless mix of records each having its own voice, beat and soul.
I have written in my song "I´m here one moment in time" : The ideas come from spirit between moon ,sun and stars.
Every day sings his own different song.I play 3 accords , my heart give me a rhythm and my soul create a new song. You can not learn it ,you must have it.
My creative process can vary depending both on my mood, and what I have at hand when I'm writing a song.
Sometimes I would first type the lyrics on my laptop, and then try to come up with the melody the next morning. Sometimes I would record the melody on my digital recorder and then come up with the lyrics. But there are often times when I would sit at my keyboard for hours trying to come up with a melody, and its either incomplete, or doesn't sound good enough for my voice.
Coffee and no sleep.
If I am passionate about anything I can write about it easily.
I start writing most all songs with just an acoustic guitar and write around that. I hear tons of different parts, some never make it and some do.
For me, it involves listening to the beat and feeling inspiration from that. I also draw inspiration from various things, which will induce me to write lyrics or create a sound that I particularly like. Usually, I like to be alone in my creative process.
Write down everything and anything no matter how nonsensical and then sift through later to find the gems.
I've had songs come to me in a variety of situations. Through experiences, places, people, relationships - you name it. Something has to move me enough to want to write about it. Very seldom if I force myself to sit down and write a song will it ever happen. I have to feel it inside, be inspired, or be really passionate about something.
That's what inspired the song Conscious ... frustration. Frustrations with the way we treat each other as people in this world. It doesn't have to be this way. It's time for a wave of Consciousness to begin, we need to start thinking about something much bigger than just ourselves.
The world isn't going to get any better if we don't. It's up to us to change it ... it can be done. Small steps can lead to bigger ones if we truly want to make a difference.
Trial and error. I have many ideas and I try to record whatever ideas I have and then edit from there.
Look at everything and discover the unique, previously unexploited qualities, then write something unavoidably compelling which has never been written about my particular subject before.
I live in Ireland,Portugal and Amsterdam on an annual basis.I like this arrangement as it allows me to write music that has greater multicultural input that otherwise would not be available living in one place alone.
I start in a variety of ways, either through a small riff that I work out and elaborate on, or by having a preset plan. Though, usually, I do best when I start with a blank slate and can fill in the gaps as I go.
I listen internally, play chords, create melodies and words,
usually all at once.
