When the realities of life change (positively, negatively, challenges, fears), I am often moved to either play (usually for myself) or write. When motivated by a cause, I will do whatever I can to contributed. I usually never say no to an opportunity when it presents itself.
Sit down, tune guitar, start playing. I like experimenting with alternative tuning and I play a lot of slide and I like messing around with open tunings. Once I get a hook or a melody I like, I expand on it and eventually shape into a tune/song. Then I record a rough demo of it and leave it to mature until I get round to refining it. There's a lot of tunes "Maturing" at the moment. I sometimes listen to a particular artist for inspiration.
A bunch of trial and error.
Very specific, very focused, very intuitive. Instantaneous inspiration.
A great Motown songwriter said he thinks up a good title for a song, then writes it. I guiess I go along with that. A good, basic, inspired idea can go anywhere IF you pull the right strings and make it happen.
I don't surrender any idea as dead or gone or useless, either. It's time is just not ripe, usually. Patient persistence and reaching back for stuff on your shelf is the heart and soul of appearing "creative" to those around you. You may have "created" the idea years before, but to THEM it's new.
Just put a beat on and im ready to take off!
slow, laborious, layered.
Learning to play by ear, because I never could do it until my latter years.
We use only chords sheets for the worship team.
At the moment none yet. But I want to be creative in every way especially in Vocals or even something to do with music.
Making music only when it comes to you.
I will begin to write, take time to be by myself, contemplate feelings and emotions I want to share with the listener and begin writing what flows out of my heart
my musical process is the same with my writing process: NONE. :) i just go by the way it feels, i don't force myself to write a song or make a new song.
i smoke pot
Smoke a blunt or two, lax and put on an instrumental.
I write lyrics more than anything. I like to use dynamics in my drumming.
I'm starting with nothing, and playing on guitar og keyboard, and sings.... And then i get some ideas to a melody.... Then i'm building it up on the computer.... I start with the instrumentals, and then i'm singing a guide-vocal, to hear the instruments with the lead vocal.... Then i'm adding some background vocals, and i'm playing with many ideas, and trying to find the way, it should sound..... I do a lot of mixing.... But i start with the instruments, and working it up....
