What is your creative process?

creative process? humm...I'm as creative as how creative I am...I guess that's the most creative answer right? haha

Ahh man, my creative process! Well, I listen to so much music of all sorts (Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul, Funk, Nu-Wave, Pop, Jazz & Rock) that my mind is always thinking of new music to do. In the past, I would just write songs & then record them on a beat, but I learned that was the "ass-backwards" way of doing it (lol). Nowadays, I work with producers on making a track, or they send me something that would fit what I'm looking for. In the future, I plan on learning an instrument(s) and form-fit my songs to the music note-by-note if you dig what I'm saying. My creative writing process comes from the pimp/mack/player lifestyle and the situations and occurrences involved with that lifestyle. I also just hear the incredible music i listen to, & want to make my own incredible music that others would enjoy. I always want to make the best I can make. I read an article & got some in sight from an old producer by the name of Hugh Padgham, who worked with artists like Sting & Phil Collins. To sum the shit the shit up, he basically would ask the artists recording "Are you happy with this? Or will you be ashamed of this in 5 years?". I ain't gonna lie, I took a lot from that article.

I have my very own unique ways of creativity, but I'll share a dope one. Before beginning your process, pull out your Ipod and just play TONS of records...get into the mood of things, you'll be surprised how much your melody and vocabulary can expand. I usually have battles with friends and have them play records that inspire them...then I'd throw another record that would top that one...GET THE JUICES FLOWING!!

various processes it depends on the moment and mood but basically everyday is a creative process for me

Not sure..

I hear abeat and then if it's usable then i'll know within the first 5 seconds and then I usually bang out a full tune within 10 minutes. Some tunes take longer depending on the vibe!

Really everytime I pick up my piano or guitar is always time to be creative and everytime I think of some good lyrics I write them down!

Depends if it is a song for me or someone else. I am much harder on myself and my music than I would be for someone else. One people are not as picky as I am. I have enough songs to release 21 albums (one hour each). But I don't because the songs don't meet my requirements. Friends and other say they are ready, but not for me.

When I am writing for me I do most of it in my head. Then I move to the instrument to fine tune. I then write it all out and prep for recording. When in the studio I focus on making it sound like it does in my head. This is the hard part. Finding the right equipment and studio gear to generate that tone. My guitar tone is very unique and expensive to make. Thank you sponsors!!!

When I am working with other people. It is more of a collaboration. I can hear something and tell you what should be there. I can hear the melody lines. I can hear what the song could be. I can start with just one part of a song (drums, bass, guitar, keyboard). If you show me what you have I can help you turn it in to something anyone can enjoy. Friends say that is my real talent. I think this is because I don't try to think of what style is this song, but what does this song need to make it special. Every song I work on is special. When I am writing my own music it comes from my life most of the time. My focus is that you can feel the emotions I do when listening.

I don't force myself to create a music. It comes when it comes. But I can help people finding what they need.

Depends.

Sit down, play and see what mistakes sound good!

The music just appears

I have several. I assume you mean for writing. I have many.

the creative process behind what i do 1st if it's an artist i can see has great potential i lissen to em sing from there i know whether or not how far to go i develop them from there i give them records to study i give em how to sing it i push them to be more competitive with them selves and others i train them to dayum near perfection then i put em in the studio and give them a hit record or what i feel can be a hit record.and if it's a song for an artist i think of other great writers that have inspired me along the way lil mo taught me the meaning of concept records and the dream taught me the power behind it i give alot of my music teachings came from being around better writers and producers

We both realize we had the same "getting in the zone process". Take the instrumentals, hop in the ride, pop it in and ride around the city. By the time we get home we have 3 or 4 hits.
