What is your creative process?

eratic.....being creative isn't a process...That's not the way art works.
The darker the sound/ melody / bass line the better.
Normaly I work around a drum beat and see what happens from there.
Mainly setting down a drum loop, then layering guitar, bass and keyboard over that. The digital process makes things much easier.
It depends on the song. Some are based on a melody I'll hum to myself and then learn on piano but most songs are based off a musical ideas in a certain key with a certain chord progression that I hammer out on the piano. Lyrics usually come later in the composing of a piece.
I write the words and the melodies at the same time. I will work on a song for no longer than a month, if a tune doesn't flow easily very early on in the writing process, I usually leave it for another song.
Honestly, motivation is the key to my creative process.
I do things whenever I feel like it, as I found that any real 'efforts' are mostly fruitless. Whenever I happen to have a good idea, I work on it right away. If I don't do anything for a year or so it will be o.k. If I don't have a good idea, I don't do anything at all. I have plenty of other things I can spend my time on.
I reflect on my life and those around me and the let the beat inspire me.
Failing quite a lot. Knowing that it will be rare if I get it right the first time.
It mainly depends on my emotion. My emotions dictate what i make. My feelings run deep in my music.
I do not have a set process. I create all the time piece by piece, thought by thought.
No process I just DO IT
I would describe my creative process as just me doing exactly what I want to do. When I record a song or write it I just say exactly what I feel. Alot of my songs are about my experiences.
When i have something eto think about like, love, things that happen with me or someone i know, it`s interesting to talk about the real life. |
