When did you realise that making music could be a way of life for you?
Everytime i finish singing or writing a song it makes my life easier. Because as im writing the lyrics to a song i express and pour out my feeling which then makes me feel much lighter inside...
I think deep down I've always known that.
Well, I have always loved music but once I realized that you can make a great living in the music business I jumped into it with both feet.
Ever since I was young, I always knew that I wanted to be a musician. I'm really grateful to be able to live this dream, and be paid for doing what I love and enjoyed doing most.
I knew I wanted it to be my way of life when I played my first professional gig at 15yrs of age.
I knew it could be a way of life when I received my first royalty chq with more than 2 zeros after the double digit number at the start.
Very young. Music has always hooked me. It's my passion, the thing I get excited about. However, realising that it could be a way of life and actually making it a way of life are two different games altogether!
It's a way of peace of mind for me. See, we all have jobs and schedules and unfortunetely cant live off of music.
I love playing the guitar with anyone who invites me to but i still have a 9 to 5 regular job and so do the other members!
On April 23rd, we played a show live at a Highschool showcase, 3 days after our band formed. From the reaction of the crowd, and the fun we had on stage we knew we could do it.
I'm still not convinced.
We all just love music, so we just ended up doing what we love. It's amazing that it has come together well enough to provide a living for us.
Music is expression for me. I never thought of it as a way of life. It is just part of life and part of the way I express myself.
When I started having valid opinions on why certain things didn't sound so good! :)
I realized when people i knew and the people i wasnt familiar with, constantly told me im talented and they love my work. Then i started realizing what i am capable of..
