Do you usually attended seminars or coursework to advance your professional work or would you consider yourself a more self-taught person?

Whohub

Yes.

I love to network so I frequently attend seminars and workshops and I always continue my education.

I would strongly consider myself a self-taught person. The majority of my web & graphic design skills were self-taught. I was eventually taught programming by my first company that I worked for, (LPinternet). When it comes to web development, there are some things you simply just can't teach yourself. However, at the same time, I believe learning web design languages is just like learning Spanish or Italian; once you learn the basics, it becomes easier to expand your knowledge. However, learning the basics can be the hardest part sometimes.

I speak 20-30 times per year at workshops and conferences and teach at least two college level courses annually. This is the best way to learn--by teaching.

Primarily self-taught. I enjoy learning from others and I learn well that way, but in general I am able to obtain the information and skills I need on-the-spot more quickly and efficiently by pursuing knowledge on my own.

We live in very interesting times! Pretty much anything an individual in the developed world wants to learn, he or she can go and learn to virtually any extent desired.

I am a student, avid researcher, self taught, and I also attend seminars and web seminars too.

Training course is good to refine your skills. However, you should not overdo things. Don’t boost your ego with it or have a lack of faith in your abilities. There is no need too. Photography is all about the image. It is purely visual. For the customer to choose: Like or not like. But to answer the question: I see myself mostly as a self-taught person.

Yes.

No not really, I just use my old noggin a lot.

The problem with seminars and coursework is that someone else has normally come up with these ideas and want other people to accept them as facts. I have found that many ideas that are put forth as medical facts are indeed incorrect. Having spent years consulting so called medical professionals only to have them damage my health, I now have little faith in the medical world. I have only been able to clear my skin and get my health back on track from doing my own medical research. My own research has allowed me to discover the real reasons why acne exists and without this research I would have been unable to help the 100's of people that I have to achieve a spotless complexion.

yes.

Yes, absolutely.

I both attend relevant seminars and read a lot of stuff myself

I've taken courses if my employers have sent me, but thus far I've not done anything on my own for my current profession. I look forward, though, to doing more with my non-job residual income development skills and learning more about those.

Mostly I'm self-taught, though.

I do consider myself more self-taught but do occasionally attend seminars.
