I have no formal music qualifications but I have a degree in product design and a post grad in interaction design.
My education started with the beatles and ended briefly after a bad music teacher put me off piano for many years.

Mostly self-taught and incidental learning from other musicians, but also a year of Classical Guitar tuition and I took part in music lessons at school, which was generally singing.
Music Theory in HS - Bachelor of Music Composition @ University of CT - various other music classes at the Songwriters Guild, ASCAP, BMI, UCLA, Eastman, plus vocal and piano lessons through the years.
I learned most of what I know just from loving other people's music!
But I took vocal lessons from several wonderful teachers, took lessons on granny organ when I was a kid (mamba!), read a book on music theory once, and got a chord book for the guitar (mostly so I could figure out the names of the things I was already playing). Still sometimes I don't know...
At the age of 13 started studying musical language, guitar and singing.
Later got a Degree in Musical Education in the University of Vigo, Spain.
Also studied classical singing at the Conservatoire of Vigo and Conservatoire Mayeusis, for 6 years.
Did several courses of classical vocal techique and piano.
Studied a PG Diploma in Vocal Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
Did an intensive course of modern singing technique by the Complete Vocal Tecnhique Institute, in London.

I learned to play the trumpet badly for the school brass band when I was 13

Played drums from grade 4 through 12. Around grade 7 I picked up piano and singing. I took lessons on each only long enough to get the jist of it. Then I taught myself the rest by incessantly listening to my favorite music at the time and playing along.
I played in ensembles from 4th grade through High School, and took private lessons. I got a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Puget Sound, went on to get a Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland, and earned a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. My primary teachers were Joyce Ramée, Joseph dePasquale, Michael Tree, and Roberto Dìaz.
