How did you begin making music? Who introduced you?

My mother introduced me methodically to classical music from a very young age. I remember I fell in love with the piano at age 4 or 5 when visiting the house of my father's business associates in Italy. But it was my Year 4 teacher (frustrated violinist and Headteacher to the school) who begged my mother to let me start piano lessons in view of the ability he had detected (after my own begging of several months proved less than persuasive)!

I started making music in 1980. It just kind of came to me and I would make my own versions of pop songs as a child. I was less interested in popular music and was more interested in rap. I was introduced to hip hop music by being in the South Bronx. I would eventually spend a few years as a classically trained violinist-- an aside.

Like many, I started out in the Hip Hop genre, but I came back to Reggae for the message in the songs that, unfortunately, Hip Hop no longer holds.

We've been raised around it since kids. And met when we were 14. Been mucking around with it always since then until discovering prince of thieves in 2007.

I picked up the guitar at age 15 and ran with it. Initially it was a way to curb the loneliness of not being interested or involved in sports (in a small, conservative Texas town), but it quickly became a major part of my life.

I introduced myself into music when I was 8 because I would always be rapping or writing songs, but when my uncle knew that I have the musical talent in me he has work with me for a while to help me and from that point on I have been writing music.
