I'm going to take this time to list some accomplishments of my band members rather than my own. Sam Cassale (drums) and Elliot Self (bass) both have been winners of the Stairway to Stardom competition with Skips Music. Sam has also been recommended to join his college's Jazz band.
And as for I,
I received a C+ in my guitar lab class in high school, the grade being based on regurgitation of "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and not creativity or skill.
For my own work, I aspire to be an A+ musician.
I think when I had gotten my chance to play with my trumpet hero while growing up Roy Hargrove on the same stage at a trumpet series would probably be the first BIG award in my New York or rather adult life. Before then would have been when I was 13 and won a Sammy Davis Jr. Award in Houston for best instrumentalist. But right now the one that I always look back on to keep me going would be the review I recieved from the New York Times for a project I put out independently (I really wasn't expecting a review back then).

The Outer Vibe performed at Fox Fest 2006, opening for REO Speedwagon and the Tubes, a result of winning the 13th annual Aris Hampers Hometown Rock Search. They have also taken first place in the East Lansing 97.5 NOW FM 2008 Hometown Rock Crown, the Cenral Michigan University Relay for Life 91.5 WHMW's 2005 Battle of the Bands, the Grand Rapids 2004 97.9 WGRD Big Break Contest, and the 2001 West Michigan High School Battle of the Bands.
At the annual Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts (the biggest volunteer-run event in the nation), The Outer Vibe consistently has the highest CD sales of any musical act.
Other accomplishments of the band:
- Opened for Starship (formerly Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship) at the 78th annual Venetian Fest (Charlevoix, MI)
- Headlined the 18th annual National Baby Food Festival (Fremont, MI)
- Headlined the 16th annual Harborfest with Barrington "Bo" Henderson of The Temptations (South Haven, MI)
- Has also opened for: Days of the New, Electric Six, Local H, Kevin Max of D.C. Talk, Caroline’s Spine, Sponge, Primer 55, Bliss 66, The Hard Lessons, The Dirty Americans, We Are The Fury.

i have know awards but the ones from god
Havent gotten much, just props, but I'm looking to change that
I took honours in the 2004 International Songwriting Competition judged by Brandford Marsalis. I also appeared in a live broadcast concert from the Barbican on BBC TV in their "Jazz Britannia" series in 2005.
We tried to enter The X factor but couldn't be bothered queuing up.
i've won many stage competetions. i've won one talent hunt award also which was meant for siging!
