We are a guitar shop, in Frome, Somerset, UK. We have a large range of guitars from major brands.
We tend to be different from most guitar shops as guitarbitz was created by James Oliver and Davin Kenwood, both business men from different backgrounds that like guitars rather than guitarists trying to be businessmen.

I am a freelance woodwinds player. I started out as a clarinetist, but with the demands of the music world, I find myself primarily a saxophonist. As far as specialties go, I am a jazz player. My trio (where I play saxophones, bass clarinet and flute) is one of the busier groups in Ottawa. It is largely based on Joe Lovano's Trio Fascinations concept.
I also spend a huge amount of time composing and arranging. Most of the groups that I perform with perform original material of mine. If the group is not performing originals, then arrangements of different tunes are being performed. It's an extra element of the music that I enjoy personalizing.

We are a modern brass band, who performs a wide ranging varied program whilst maintaining a high standard. From traditional brass band to jazz, from classical to big screen hits, we have the ability to (usually source/arrange) and play it all!
We differ to other brass bands as we maintain and portray a modern image, together with a concert repertoire and format that delivers an interesting and memorable event for all event-goers. Our gigs (whether it be our full band or 10pc ensemble) will regularly be party to 3 differing 'sets', mixed with a difference in dress, style and space permitting choreography.
Whilst the band is successful on the contest scene, with regular participation in the National Finals, etc., our true loyal base is entertaining at concert level. After-all what is music if nobody enjoys listening to it!

Women and girls of all ages dig my songs because they can so relate to what I sing about and they feel it the way I sing it! Men, however, are very intimidated by my songs and me! To those men I always say either 1 of 2 things: 1) "If you're not an asshole, then you have nothing to worry about! If you are, then I'll write a song about you, want to hear it? Hear it goes...!" or 2) "It's just a fucking song! Get over it!"

I write and perform my own songs. They're pretty indie (well, I am independent) but I also have influences in rock, punk, folk, blues, country and jazz. I play the guitar (both acoustic and electric), harmonica, bass and piano as well as vocals. Covers are not out of the question, but I still feel more comfortable with my own material. |
