What do you do? What is your musical specialty?

Whohub

I am a songwriter removed from Nashville to Florida. Folk Music is my love but I have written songs for singers of all genres from Martha & The Vandellas to George Jones to Burl Ives.

I am an associate professor of music at Benedictine College (KS). I teach (coordinator) music theory, composition, orchestration, chamber music, counterpoint, History of Jazz, and applied woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone).

I have professional experience as a composer and performer and work in both the classical and jazz fields. I have interests that are broad and I draw from American jazz, twentieth century music traditions, non-western, rock, classical and folk music. I specialize in woodwind performance and music composition and I have been developing a body of work in contemporary classical music (www.chrisgrecomusic.com), and in jazz music (www.erjn.it/greco) for the past two decades.

In addition I pursue research in a broad range of musical subjects including woodwind performance, twentieth century music, music theory, and music composition.

I am an active composer/performer and you are welcome to check my itinerary/schedule on my web sites for classical recitals and jazz performances. Recordings are produced periodically in cycles, and I look forward to some upcoming recording projects.

I play the clarinet, primarily Bb clarinet, also the Eb clarinet.
We play alternative eclectic for want of a term.
Both Rachael and myself write music, and with our blend of instruments in our group, we can create wonderful and unique music.

I am a contemporary classical music composer. My work list includes compositions in various forms ranging from operas and symphonic orchestral works to choral pieces and solo instrumental works.

Singing, songwriting, composing, arranging

I'm a Scripture songwriter. As a child I never was inspired to write a song, so I never thought I could. But while reading from Scripture, God began blessing me with melodies. I new it had to be God. The first song came on Dec. 18, 2001, shortly after the Twin Tower attack. It was also the second anniversary of my earthly father's death. He had wanted my sister and I to write songs and I never could.

I write and produced three Scripture song CDs. And there are a few more sitting around waiting for me to record them.

I Write and I record Music Of my writeings

I teach piano at the Virginia Commonwealth University and perform as a soloist and a chamber musician.

I am a composer of concert music. I have written a great deal of music for the theatre and the concert hall. My theatre credits include 'Marya' by Isaac Babel for the Royal Court, 'A Doll’s House' by Ibsen for the Riverside Studios, 'The Royal Pardon' by John Arden for the Arts Theatre, 'The Changeling' by Middleton for a production in Sydney, Australia, and 'The Price' by Arthur Miller for the Bristol Old Vic. My scores for Brecht’s 'Caucasian Chalk Circle' and 'Edward ll' are both recognised scores for these plays held by the Brecht Estate in Berlin and have provided the music for many productions. A musical - 'The Braddocks Time' - was a commission from the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool, where it was followed by a tour of the north of England. 'The Sacrifice', a music drama based on a Japanese No play was initially premiered at the Royal Court Theatre, and in a revised version by The Acting Company at the New End Theatre. As Musical Director of The Cherub Theatre Company I composed scores for 'The Tempest', 'The Merchant of Venice', 'Ten Days A-Maze', 'Edward II', and Kafka’s 'The Trial'. More recently I wrote a score for an adaptation of 'Twenty thousand leagues under the sea' for the Watermill Theatre in Newbury

In the concert hall I have written a concerto for mandolin and strings, a commission from the International Music Competition for professional mandolin players in Schweinfurt, Germany in November 2002. I have also written a considerable amount of instrumental and chamber and music for a variety of combinations of instruments, as well as thirteen song-cycles including ‘Songs of Ashes’ and ‘I never saw another butterfly”, both on the subject of the Holocaust. ‘Songs of Ashes’ has been broadcast in Israel three times. In March 2003 my cantata ‘The Death of Moses’ for Narrator, Chorus and Chamber Ensemble, and in June 2005 my Oratorio ‘Ruth’, for Soloists Chorus and Chamber Ensemble, were both first performed in London.

Writing music and lyrics.
I play, arrange, and sing.

I do song parodies, rewrites of hit songs but with an adult theme. Kind of like an x-rated weird Al.

Singing has always been my greatest musical skill. Growing up in a very musical environment, I play several instruments. In my career, I only really use my guitar skills and my singing. I also like to think of my writing talents as musical specialities. I write all of my own songs, every song on the album.

Classical Orchestration- composing

Ukulele is my game. Bartt.net is my shmame.
