Yes, our product did exist ten years ago, unrecognized. It lacked the Humanomics(sm) BRAND it today has, as is its CONTEXT to be more recognizable and understood, for what it is... a better way of organizing our economy, as is essential...
I only started to take a real interest in new technology in 2000 when I used to attend the First Tuesday Club and saw the power of networking in practice. I really took the decision to position my business in the niche of sustainable and disruptive technologies in 2007 and am so glad that I did because it's produced an incredible stream of very interesting new projects.
Thats the beauty of my industry, it wasn't here 10years ago, but it has changed the way people do business. Social Media Marketing has taken over, any business that is not leveraging social media today, has been leaving under the rock for the past 5years.

While internet video did exist 10 years ago, high speed internet was just beginning. Now that 60% of America is on high speed internet it makes complete sense to market with it. Plus, virtual tours are basically the same price as a video tour and yet they don't provide what video does.

Yes all of these brands existed, but they have evolved in the past 10 years. For example adult education (emba, mba, seminars) these have become highly competitive and for profit. Life sciences had made a shift from west to east. but 10 years ago, it was print based, with web being just touched upon and social media and web based apps unheard of.
Communications companies have always been around, but it is a very recent development that they now have marketing functions. It takes a certain foresight to be able to identify this, and I give my organization a lot of credit for that.
It's very easy to assume that as a communications company, your work would be very visible and thus as a result, be hired or get business on the back of that.
The product has been around forever and I mean forever. Hutt Valley is the first place of settlement by the New Zealand Company out of England (1839) and prior to that Maori had settled here. The brand has really only evolved over the last decade with the development of Wellington as a tourist destination in New Zealand.
