What advice would you give to someone who wishes to begin a blog?
Make sure you are passionate, you know how to write, and be prepared to build your site from the ground-floor up.
Keep it simple. Focus on your passion or passions. Find a happy balance between friendly and professional. Write from your heart and reply to the readers who leave comments.
Don't do it. It sucks you in and makes you even geekier than before.
Actually no, if you want to do it, go for it because it's fun and you get to connect with loads of like-minded people, but don't say I didn't warn you.
Start out simple.
Spend some time getting to know all the different aspects to a blog.
Ask friends for help.
Do a few posts & find out if you are really going to like it & keep it up before you tell all your friends.
Just go for it , its a great community and you will never regret it
Make sure you write about something that you really love and can write about it forever
he must made one blog and know his gole
Absolutely, do it!
I don't think i am qualified to advice someone.
Once you know what your subject matter is, Google's a good place to start.
Google: www.blogger.com/
Also read work by people who actively blog. A good place to look is BlogCatalog.
Read other blogs which relate to your subject matter to decide on a way to be different and more dynamic.
Join associations which allow you to network.
Do it! As for serious advice, do some research on what blogging platform you want to use. They're not all created equal and some will suit your needs better than others. My preference is WordPress, but you could go with Blogger, Live Journal, Xanga, Vox or Tumblr (just to name a few).
For me, that is the most important decision. You could think yourself to death trying to figure out what kind of a blog you want, but I believe that if you just start writing, you'll find your niche. So pick a platfrom and start writing. And enjoy yourself. It should be fun.
write about something you love
Pick a web adress you will be happy with, ahahahaha. once you're there for a couple months, and've gained some followers, there's no going back! But in all seriousness, blogging isn't serious business. Blog about whatever you want, whether you think it's boring or not. It's open ground, there aren't any rules! Just be yourself!
AND DON'T LET YOUR BLOG DIE. Haha. I guess that's important.
Just be yourself on writing your posts, don't pretend, 'cause the more you lie the more you'll make it sound funny. |
