What advice would you give to someone who wishes to begin a blog?

Do it, you won't regret it. Don't sweat getting followers, do it for you.

Don't start unless you are really passionate about your topic and are willing to commit to turning out a quality product on a regular basis. There are already enough poorly written, sporadic blogs out there. But if you really have the passion, write for yourself, and don't worry about followers.

Also, understand copyright laws and don't "borrow" without giving credit.

Go for it - but try and get your blog syndicated and listed with the big Blog Directories and also go for Guest Blogging - it seems a good way to get visibility.

I found it slow going to start with, but after I ran a second blog (http://40in4weeks.blogspot.com/) which I posted to daily, this helped a lot by just getting into the habit of writing. So my advice would be to start with an idea, try and post regularly, but don't be afraid of trying something new if the first idea isn't working as well as you'd like.

Find your voice. You can't be all things to everyone, so narrow down your focus so your audience can find you.

Be prepared to devote time to it and network with other bloggers.

Oddly enough I have written about that already so I will just refer you to that article: http://www.helium.com/items/2238659-how-to-become-a-prolific-blogger

Dive in. Just let your mind roam free. It's fun, and it can also be great therapy.

I get asked this question often, and my answer is always another question: WHY do you want to start a blog? Do you enjoy writing? Are you passionate about a particular subject? What do you expect to achieve with your blog?

No one should write a blog unless they know why they want to do it, and what they expect to get out of it. When they answer those questions - they'll know how to start.

Like the Nike slogan says - Just Do It!

Find a subject you're really into and focus.

Jus' do it.

I would tell them to tap into their strength and utilize their unique ability as a base for their blog... Blogging requires a lot of commitment, it's not something you can post into every couple of months, you only build a following when you are consistent in the quality of your posts and the messages that you send... If you are not prepared to put in the time then don't do it... Also, reaching that consistency means regular practice and writing... I turned to a friend of mine before I launched my blog and told him I had no idea what I wanted to write about... He told me to "just write and keep writing" and that it would eventually come to me... That was amazing advice... Helped me big time!

JUST DO IT! You'll love it - it is fun and the feedback is great. The blogging world is largely warm and friendly and very welcoming. Jump in! It will make you feel fantastic!

create a blog that invloves your interests & about what you really Love, & with that you will surely enjoyed it a lot!

Be consistent and passionate.
