What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it?
A desire to archive my thoughts and conversations, then to concentrate on where my thoughts contrast with all mainstream thoughts - thus a foray into philosophy.
I started it on February 27th 2003, and have fairly consistently updated it since.
I set it up initially in June 2007 to promote my first sci-fi novel, The Mars Imperative.
Today it continues to aid me in promoting my books and stories, but also as a mechanism for education other writers. I have an ongoing series of blog entries about "commonly misused/misspelled words and phrases".
Actually, my Blogger blog is the second installment of it. When Blogger and Google combined, it messed up my blog so that I could no longer participate in my group blogs, so I had to start a new one and transfer things in. I believe the original was started in 2005 or so.
I actually started the blog, because it seemed a good way to store articles I was writing on Yahoogroups in a central location.
I was living in Las Vegas, and I wanted to provide a site for women to go to for free information about where to go, how to entertain, and intergrate with everday life. It officially launched January 5, 2007.
I'm an anthropologist. We can gain a lot of information about life and times from journals and a blog is just an online version of a journal. Since I wanted people now and in the future to know about life from my perspective, I started a lot of blogs (3 so far). As for when I started it, I have been writing journals for decades. The earliest post, I think, is 2002 or 2003.
When my life as a mother was new, I needed to express thoughts and feelings about parenting and living outside the mainstream way of doing things. I needed to connect with like-minded folks. I did that with my first blog, which was called Mother Anarchy, aka just folks.
Rain Solace is my new blog. I've worked through many of the issues I had, feeling outcast, and so I created the new blog with a new feel, like getting older.
For my kids: Dragon's Fire Learning is a repository of interesting topics, a directory of children's websites, and a method of homeschool recordkeeping. Girly Fashion Games is a collection of dress-up fashion games.
I was working on a book similar to the "Weird USA" books since those guides seem to be very lite on details. It became a bit daunting so I decided to write some of the stories in blog form and include personal stories of the paranormal that I have encountered.
I started Montana Gael for my own sake, to weave all the tattered threads of my own writing together, but I also wanted to provide an up-to-date, clever outlet for Montana Irish arts and news. I started blogging on October 25, 2008.
I wanted to write an excerpt from one of my projects. This started the whole thing I believe, although I am not sure that it wasn't my enthusiasm for American Idol. i was campaigning for Jordin Sparks before the end of the third show. It was 2007.
I always knew the latest events and gossip so my friends encouraged me to start a blog. I started it in Nov 2007
I start the blog on January 2007. In New York City, especially, the journalists covering City Hall, most of the time, they asked the questions that the mayor want to be asked. Sometimes the Mayor's press office planted question and ask a reporter to ask the question. At the beginning of the Bloomberg administration, they try to plant a question on me. I refused. Because of all of this I began the blig. Reporters (The Denizen of City Hall), no lomger ask question on how policies done by the mayor affect the poor communities—the Spanish_Speaking (Latino), The African-American, the Asian-American and the poor white in the rich city.
I understand that since the printing media is going in the same trajectory at the vanishing middle class. Today's "journalist" are guns for hiring, they no longer served at the eyes andf ears or their readers or listening. They are behoding to the corporations who own their respective organs.
I started the blog in December 2007. I created it for selfish reasons, as I wanted a place where I could write anything I desired, regardless of importance.
I attended a training in 2007, and then after that I realised I could write what I want without going through an editor
I use to write from the early age. And as a journalist I have to prepare lots of articles. I always feel that the process we choose to express our view is old. Its all communicating in a one way process. I am talking, writing or expressing my views but the readers are seems to be invisible. So, I was looking for the reader who is interactive and visible in the same media i use. Finally i heard of blogs and created a blog on blogspot (http://mokabela.blogspot.com/) on October 2005. At the beginning I was little confused of writing English language. I knew, Its hard to reach Bangali audience through it. So, I tried Bangla Unicode as my tool of Bangla blogging. But finally there launched somewhereinblog. It is fully Bangla supported blog. I liked it much. I signed up there on 26 February 2006. And started blogging regularly.
A needed a space to pour out my opinions as I don't get much space in our newspaper. Both sites were started last year in December. |
