What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it?
My blog started in May 2011. It coincided with the launch of my first e-books on Amazon Kindle. All the self-publishing gurus recommend every author should have a regular writing platform to connect with readers in between books.
As with most blogs, mine was born of frustration back in March 2009! In particular, the issue of widening recruitment into the PR industry. I wanted to create a space where I could expand on the brief quotes I gave to PR Week on the subject of apprenticeships in public relations. From there, I broadened out the subject matter as I saw fit.
July 2009. I started it as a platfrom to my future site and business Cheapeats. It was a way to organically grow and build an audience and platform.
I started in July 2010. I wanted a way to share my thoughts and to see what others thought.
I have always loved writing, but I wasn't active on the social web and really didn't understand the concept of blogging. My daughter convinced me to join Facebook, and then Twitter, where I discovered an entire world of human resources and recruiting professionals who were blogging and talking to each other. I loved it so much I started blogging along with them in October of 2009.
It was a project to learn about SEO and Internet Marketing.
I started my blog on 9 January 2009. My husband convinced me to start my blog and to share my mind meanderings with the world.

I made the blog because it allowed me to create an online identity, connect with readers, voice my opinions and views and you can make money while enjoying blogging. I set up my blog in November 2011.
I bought the findingmyvenus.com domain about two years ago with the aim of using it as a portal through which I could share my experience with life and hopefully inspire others going through the same dilemmas. Even though I bought the site two years ago, I only launched it in May of this year when I felt ready for the task! I believe that every woman is beautiful, capable and strong beyond imagination and that the only way she can realize her full potential is by tapping into her inner strengths to ultimately "find her Venus"! I came to understand that when a woman is centered and empowered, she can overcome all of the hurdles that come her way... Over the course of the next 10 months I will be filming the weightloss part of my experience and sharing it online to prove my point... No diets and complexity, just balance and conscious choices. |
