It depends on the 'ecotax', some are good and investment in the Green sector is needed. However many are just tax gouges under the guise of saving the planet.

Ecotaxes and eco legislation are important and necessary, because if one thing has proved true throughout history, business will not care about anything other than its profits - especially the environment - unless it is made to. If it is cost effective for a business to destroy the environment, 9 times out of 10 it will. It must not be allowed to do so.
I think only large companies, factories and corporations emitting large carbon emissions should be taxed and the people should not have to suffer more taxes.

Absolutely. Ecotaxes are the taxes of the future. They are a means to achieve a sustainable society and economy with minimum regulations or state intervention. I strongly advocate a shift from conventional taxation to ecotaxes.
