Does globalisation help in the development of the world's poorest countries, or does it perpetuate conditions of exploitation?

Whohub

what gives anyone the right to globalize? I dont remember voting for that! or is that just another word for a global dictatorship?

Globalisation has the power to bring about far greater social and economic equity around the world, but when trade rules are either drawn up or implemented unfairly, then it is little surprise that today we seem to be further than ever from such goals. Reform of globalisation and its central institutions such as the IMF and the WTO, and a far greater application of free and fair trade by all nations is a path to mutual success and prosperity for all nations and peoples.

There are more people more wretched in more places today than ever before, so what do you think?

A bit of both, probably more of the latter

Difficult and inconsistent question. Anyhow globalization fixes a place of the countries in world distribution of work

Both

It can do either - what do we choose to do with this growing global community?

It is in the hands of the corrupt and until we change from the ideology of political parties and instead have an uncorruptable method of governing ourselves - no system managed by those currently in power, can work or be fair.

Globalization has a small positive effect on wage and working conditions in disadvantaged nations. However, the billionaires and wealthy corporations that can afford to invest in setting up production facilities in third world countries are unfortunately the very types who will never tolerate significant cost increases. This means that given local requests for conditions that Americans today consider "middle class," the elite will close up shop and find some locality willing to build products cheaper.

At the moment probably more the former, but that is changing. Globalisation can help if the conditions are used for those ends.

Simple; it perpetuates conditions of exploitation

I don't know about the exploitation but it does one very good thing. In the past for some it was possible to declare that people of other ethnicity or religion are all wicked and perverted. It was very handy for creating an enemy. Well with global travel and the Internet it wouldn't work anymore!

I cannot see how Globalization has helped anyone. Except the Chinese maybe.

Globalization for the purpose of economic opportunity for all people is good. To the disappointment of most poorest countries, it has unleashed exploitation of poor people to the detriment of all people.

I helps to perpetuate exploitation.

That's a double-edged sword.

Edge 1: In order for a society to be helped, it must be seen by a higher-ranking society and aided either fiscally or militarily.

Edge 2: In order to reach positions to help other societies, a "better" society must encroach on their boundaries and takeover lands, thus exploiting them.

Is not about globalisation. It could be a great thing to the world. Is about the man kind, people with power, bad governments. As they are nothing but selfish, yes it does help.
