How similar are your current drawings to those you did as a child?
Its alot different. I improved and made lots of changes to my projects.
Remarkably similar in theme, in some ways I guess the kid in me still resides!
Hopefully people think that the art has at least gotten a little better.
It's only in recent years that I've gone back to the way I drew as a kid. I've been very happy with the result.
They are very, very different. I still draw horses though. haha
We all develop even after a year you might find a significant difference between your art now and your art back then.
I still draw fantasy, what I've always liked.
I used to do a lot of graffiti based illustration back when I was younger, I think most of things I used to do have subliminally worked itself into my work, bold lines, abstract ideas and utter madness!
Vastly different but I try to capture the emotion that a child can do in a drawing.
They are nothing alike, I didn't have any technique at all and my teachers didn't exactly help me.
Well, you can tell I still love to draw girls, that's for sure!
They are not similar at all.
Not at all.
Remarkably similar actually!
Very, very different. There is no comparison. When I draw small animals, however, my mum says they are very much like the ones I drew as a child.
Used to draw Shredder from the turtles all the time, I don't draw him any more
Well, as a kid I was into mainstream comics. Right now, I’m working on a mini-series with our Editor-in-Chief at Mirror Comics, Kristopher Waddell, and we’re pushing for a pencil and ink approach. This means the work resembles quite a bit what I was doing fresh out of high school, only informed with ten years of experience in illustration and design. In between was a veritable workshop of experimentation. I am having a blast pencilling and inking really tightly again.
My present drawings are much more detailed and realistic than my childhood drawings. No stick figures now. |
