William Morris, love Matisse as a painter, I tend to enjoy decorative styles.

I am a huge fan of Ralph Steadman, Anita Kunz, Sterling Hundley and Robert Meganck. I studied under all of them, except for Mr. Steadman, while attending the Illustration Academy and VCU.

Nathan Fox, James Jean, Tomer Hanuka, Yuko Shimizu are the present day illustrators I admire most. My most admired graphic novel artists are Bryan Lee O'Malley, Becky Cloonan, Andi Watson, and Chynna Clugston.

The list is long but if I'm to narrow it down...Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac and N.C. Wyeth are right up there. On the contemporary side I love the work of Don Wood, Susan Saelig Gallagher, P.J. Lynch and of course, Gennady Spirin!

Masamune Shirow and Hajime Soroyama, among many other talented artists.

Oh man, too many. Well I think James Jean is a genius of course. I love Yuko Shimizu, Edel Rodriguez, Sam Shepard, Sterling Hundley, Frank Stockton, Josh Cochran, Pietari Posti. I also love comic book illustrators such as Eduardo Risso, Paul Pope, David Mazzuchelli, Nathan Fox, Alex Maleev, Mike Mignola, and Guy Davis. As far as past illustrators I'd say Bob Peak, Maurice Sendak, Dean Cornwell, Jack Kirby, and Andrew Loomis are my top favorites.

Salvadore Dali was by far one of my favorite and a true inspiration for my development as an artist, but I really latched on to artists like Gottfried Helnwein, Mark Frederickson, Frank Frazetta, Rodney Mathews, Chuck Jones, Dr. Suess, and of course Walt Disney.

I like James Jean and Dave Mckean a lot. They move between different styles and markets, plus their work is beautiful.

Aaron Meshon is a great illustrator who does a little of everything. His work is very whimsical and fun. I always enjoy seeing what he's up to next and he's a nice guy, too.

There is a ton of talent now, and we have been influenced by illustration giants of the past. Some of the best illustrations I've seen had no credit.

I really admire this guy!.......
