With which type of client would you decline in working for?
Life would be a lot easier, if I don't encounter the ones who gives me a deadline, starts the project, stops the project and then comes back and wants the finished project "yesterday"....
the kind that doesn't respect what designers actually DO.
I can work with a client whose product I may not believe in, and I can work with demanding clients who may not be that easy to get along with. When you combine those two things, though, that's where I may draw the line. I never say never, but in most cases have found that initial gut reactions are worth listening to. If someone is condescending or won't respect our advice in an initial meeting, chances are that will only worsen if we enter into a business relationship with them.
Those with unrealistic budgets, those who do not value design and the advantages it brings to their companies.
We also turn away clients that give us that "gut" feeling that something is wrong. We've dodged many a bullet that way.
Client who is not sure of wat he wants, who is disrespectful towards a designer and is not in a habit of listning to the views of his team.
The clients who have no idea regarding the budget and are quite surprised when you tell them.
Client who assume design is free.
Arrogant clients.
Someone who can't make up his mind. And someone who takes the designer's advice for granted.
People who tell you it's a "good opportunity", people who do not compensate artists appropriately.
Someone who is just greedy and won't pay for a good service.
A client who does not have morals or standards. I will not do work for a client who is promoting animal cruelty, racism, pollution, abuse of any sort etc.
porn, new age and left wing
The cheap client who want to skimp on absolutely everything. I refuse anyone who wants me to spend two hours on a full brand, or anyone like that.
People who already have the answer, and have no respect for other. Them I send away.
People who want you to do work for them, but want to pay you peanuts because they think you're just having fun doing it. I can't eat fun.
