I'm a little of both really...I got into Illustration and Animation in college, but dropped out. I went back to finally complete a computer graphics program which gave me all of my digital knowledge. But I guess I always had the natural talent (wow I hate giving myself praise)...

I am currently an under-grad at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most of my skills are taught by instructors at the school, but a lot of my painting technique is found doing outside work.
After a fairly disastrous year of doing Foundation Studies in art (never be discouraged!), I completed my 3 year BA course in Illustration at Falmouth University in the UK. No amount of superlatives can quite convey my enthusiasm for this excellent course and beautiful area of the South West England.
Like most, if not all, artists, I started drawing at a very young age. My development in drawing started off based on influential art that was around me, so I was self-taught from the start. When I finally reached college, I made my decision to pursue art dealt within the field of animation and illustration. From that point my formal art studies began in the prestigious BFA Animation/Illustration program at San Jose State University. I was accepted into the program Spring of 2006, and am now currently anticipating graduation in May of 2009.
I have had some classical art training and am finishing my final year at Max the Mutt Animation School, In there comic book Illustration program.
I am currently studying towards degree in Illustration at Middlesex University, where I am due to graduate in 2010.
i've done loads, 3 diploma's, a degree and a masters (but i don't think all those are necessary, i just like to learn)

I studied Art and Design throughout school and have been drawing since a young age. I completed a Foundation Course before receiving a BA Hons in Graphic Communication (specialising in Illustration) from Bath Spa University.
I'm finishing my bachelor of design next year studying illustration at the Institute for Postgraduate and Professional Higher Education in the Arts, Utrecht (HKU).
I have graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota FL with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration.
Both, but I am constantly learning everytime I pick up a pencil. |
