CREATIVITY
Ideas can come simultaneously to different people in different places with no connection to one another. How do you explain this phenomenon?
if people work on the same briefing (and lots of advertisers want to say the same thing: I'm the best, the cheapest, the most beutiful...) it is normal tha tideas can be the same. The aim is to go further..
No! It happened to me too; people are knowing everyday more and more data, news and so on; people can look very quickly on the web. I believe also in the past people can have similar idea in USa or Europe or Asia (see the ring bell MARCONI or BELL, the GUN POWDERS EUROPEAN or CHINESE) Today you have only a better tool for make search all around the World, so you can learn easy and quick if some other people aorund the world had the same or very similar idea
There are only so many "ideas" in this world. Everything, I believe, is derived off of previous ideas, successful or not. Images, or specific pieces of art are remembered, and compared with other ideas to create a new idea. Sometimes this aspect leads to two completely separated people creating a similar idea.
Inspiration is everywhere. One person can be inspired by a plant and another a piece of technology. I believe the idea is out there all the time, it just takes the right interactions and inspirations to flip the switch to the light bulb. Some ideas need process before that lead up to the final thought and some come in a epiphany style.
There are an endless amount of ideas on the plant but only so many of them can be accessed at one time. The ideas can come form different forms of inspiration and can be different for different people.
the first thing that comes to mind is the Psychologist Jung and his theories about Archetypes and the universal set of images/ideas that ever person is born with.
I just encountered this problem the other day. I thought my friends "invented" a new game, suddenly I over heard a different group of friends talking about the same game. I think thats just how the world works. Great minds think alike.
the Native American belief that we are all connected via a global life energy web that allows us to share while remaining an individual.
The possibility that both have been influenced by the same source, which could be something very public. Or sometimes pure coincidence. They do say that great minds think alike!
The phenomenon of simultaneous ideas is very intriguing. I believe that the people with the same idea must have had similar inspiration, experiences and backgrounds or some sort of commonality. I feel that innovative ideas are rarely thought of exactly the same or at the same time.
Twitter is a representative of a "social narrative" - its always been there. What the site gives us insight to is how we reference EVERYthing. B4 Twitter, there was Usenet and AOL ... B4 that, CB Radio and the Stock-market ticker ...even magazine tear-sheets - all reference. Thus, we all create from the same pool of information. Coincidence is bound to happen!
There is always a connection to "something".. nothing in this world is just random.
A reminder that we are all of the same process of Life. |
