What is the best advertisement you've seen recently?
A Brazilian pan brand. It's very real.
Benetton Unhate campaign.
Everything Can Fly. The Avios ad. Lovely.
Websites going black to protest SOPA and PIPA.
Most advertisements are mundane, so I Tivo right through them or mute their sound. And I haven't bought a print magazine in a while, so I miss the best print ads.
However, of the TV ads I have seen, the best I can remember is the tiny Darth Vader trying to start his Dad's car with The Force. I think it's a Buick ad. It has heart, it has humor, and it has cultural identity. I look forward to Super Bowl in a couple of weeks for a new batch of creative attempts to impress me.
The worst advertisements are medication ads - any medication ad, but especially Cialis ads. I don't know anyone who is so sex starved that "the slightest touch" will turn on the sex drive. Rain. Wind. Chirp of a cricket. Shopping for oranges. All these have given the guy the go-ahead to push a button that turns his environment into a sex den and watch out ladies! Then after all that build up, they end up in single bath tubs overlooking cold water (nothing's worse for the sex drive than cold water). Those are the worst - and most laughable - TV ads. the recent ad campaign reflecting art as an addiction by The College for Creative Studies Detroit. it was funny and it really sticks to you.
Advertising recently has not grabbed me at all. I watch these ads and see them on tv and wonder what on earth the product is! Everything seems to be about suing your bank, your council for falling over or for a payday loan which shows what environment we are in.
The event which stood out recently was a red bull event in which they promoted animated video in exeter and displayed these on the side of the cathedral it was absolutely mind blowing and they think outside of the box.
