Have you ever had a job that was so stimulating that you could not get your mind off of it?

Yes, working for the kiln team at Adrian College was that job. If it pertains to ceramics I get lost. There is an endless amount of information of "why things do the things they do" and I want to learn it all. With an information feed like that, I'll never get bored.
YES! it happened, and maybe wasn't a "job" it was a passion
Not a job but a piece of art work or an idea yes.
Yes, my internship over the summer interested me so much that after hours, I would continue to design at home and have ideas for the next day to take it one step further.
I am always thinking about previous jobs. It seems like everything interests me beyond what most people have a curiosity for, so I am constantly thinking of most everything that I do.

My mind is constantly stimulated with creative possibilities and solutions its part of the reason i never get bored and lay in bed thinking while trying to fall asleep. I go into intense periods of concentration which i call the zone. its almost meditative trance because mentally i am in another place.

I have had a few wonderful jobs in my lifetime, but feel that in any aspect of your life it is important to maintain a balance. Thinking about or obsessing over one thing is unhealthy. As a wise person once told me, "All things in moderation, except moderation itself."
Fortunately, all my jobs are that way! Except for the occasional, bill-paying corporate type gigs!
Every day there are things that I can't get my mind off of it, that is why I try not to use m mind. It gets me in trouble.. I'm not even sure that you can create with your mind? how?
If I take a "job" it is because it is stimulating in some form. And so every "job" is something I cannot abate my thoughts about until it is completed. The truth is that most "jobs' while remain active in my mind long after completion. |
