Your mind is your work tool. How do you take care of it?

I am an active Listener. One thing my father taught me when I was a child, before he passed. Was to Listen and all things will soon start to make sense. But not to just listen to people. Nature plays a big role in creativity.
I go on walks a lot, and read more than my fair share of books. Instead of listening to what's on the radio today, I try to go back and listen to the predecessors.

I breathe. I watch my breathing. I follow my breathe and the respite to help direct me. People think this is being idle, but this is probably one of the more active time of our lives. When we stop, we can move.
This is a moving time of our lives.
I also learn to listen actively to the world. This includes the shadows.
We need to hear the spaces but we rush in life. We need to make time for the visible and invisible narratives of our life.

I thoroughly abuse my mind. It never stops, never shuts off and seldom gets the rest or TLC it probably deserves. I find I work better when stressed out to the max.

Generally I just keep going till my body activates the shut down protocols then I'm in a self inflicted sort of coma till my body has sorted itself out.

Note to self: Not healthy- find new way to work!

I try to look after myself by living a fairly healthy lifestyle. I eat well, drink little, exercise almost every day. This keeps me fit and healthy and happy. I try to avoid getting to stressed which isn't always working but I think all these factors keep a clear mind focused and working to it's best potential.

I don't think about taking care of it too much..I get over 100 ideas a day...which is often a problem.

i do not, i create what is in my mind. that gives me a success feeling

I try to give it the love, freedom and rest it sometimes does not know it wants.

Nowadays versatility is a key skill as an employee and even more as freelance. I try to learn new things in various fields

Preheat the oven to 450

Mix a dash of chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a bowl and coat all over the brain. Let that rest for an hour.

Bake for about an hour and a half til the internal temp is 145

Rest

Enjoy.

With positive thinking.

I will arrange the best time, make something is a hobby, not coercion.

I have Asperger's Syndrome so I am always fighting with obsession. I force myself to take mental breaks. Every few hours or so I will browse the net, write something, or look through all of my RSS feeds (which are mainly images).

I journal a lot! I have co-written a book on and about journaling. Deep, Deeper, Deeper Still. I truly believe it is the best daily practice to organize my mind and clear the clutter that keeps us from being productive and creative.

I also believe that we have to surround ourselves with comfort and beauty. That is different for each of us but if we are stimulated with pleasing things look at, listen to, taste, touch we are more likely to be in a place mentally and spiritually to be creative and productive.

Of course adventures into angst can produce great art but I do not believe it is healthy to conjure angst or stay there too long.

I never turn it off or medicate it. I take long walks and enjoy challenging my mind to delve into anything it finds interesting. I enjoy games and a good joke while relishing a great story.

The best advice I would have to give is to never rely upon medicating your brain. It is simply a lie that others that have over medicated their own like to deceive others with.

If you find your brain is not as creative as you think it should be, then just play more, investigate and never say, when. Just keep diving into those deep waters of play and you will find your creative brain. Just don't cut your analytical brain down. I have enjoyed the interactions I have with those so analytical I marvel at their gift. The analytical and the Creative brain are both that should be flexed and celebrated. Find others that have what you do not and together, in collaboration, you can move mountains.
