BY ALWAYS KEEPING MY MIND FRESH WITH NEW MATERIAL
first, i very actively pursue randomness as a set part of my routine. i read randomly, watch randomly, buy random books based on random characteristics like cover colour. i call this "research". i make the assimilation of disparate information, content and cultural produce an active part of the "inhaling" part of being creative.
second, i have a muse. i always have a muse, usually a woman who's almost always unaware of this. sometimes for one reason or another i lose my muse - then i am lost and must get another. if you have no anchor you will flow as the current of the ether takes you. the muse is the anchor.
I sharpen my tool every day.
I read. I listen to music and I do a lot of sports.
I listen to music, relax, talk to others and share ideas, get outdoors and experience my surroundings
Work, work, work. Always be thinking, networking, looking... inspiration and problem solving doesn't come from one specific place it is an evolutionary process, you must always be working.
go around more travelling, keep different perspective thinking mind,
and don't look down yours belonging everything which you see that is useless, maybe that is the gadget & can inspire you somethings.
I read, watch tv, write programs (delphi), make things, play guitar, and enjoy soduku
I take care of my mind by getting enough sleep and exercise. I also try to eat a healthy diet. I enjoy cooking healthy meals and treats. I think it's good to connect with others to keep your mind sharp also. I read a lot too.
Make sure it can relax!!! Balance of different type of work, music, art, activities.
Creative People constantly deal with output. We ask our brains to come up with ideas 24/7. And to get great ideas, you must supply input. So relax with family and friends, watch a movie, take a break, walk the dog, run, talk to your mother, read a book, cook food, do yoga, read magazines, travel etc.
If you don't feed your brain different inputs, you eventually run out of output. So that's how you should take care of your brain: relax and feed it with useful and useless impressions.
With being very kind to it, I watch what I put in to it. Taking good care of your overall body helps too.
Read a lot of various books and magazines, not only related to art and design. A lot of inspiration comes from other areas. Also try to leave the work in the studio, hard but very important in order to reload the batteries. Also do a lot of word puzzles :-)
I try to exercise Yoga, play electronic music, to maintain the waves of the brain in a mode of creativity. My mind is fragile, but I have seen a powerful creative tool in the fragileness, which I use actively to make music.
