|What are you working on now?
I just completed my second edition to Inspirations From My Family & Friends. It's been edited...now waiting for me to make a final draft, then send off to be published. I also have my sequel to CHARLIE in the hands of the illustrator (remember, my sister???). CHARLIE and His New Friend will take much longer for me to prepare. If I hit the jackpot, it will be out during the first quarter of 2009. If not...some day, I'm sure!
I'm working on a couple of short stories along with my daily (most) blogging and podcasting of work. Once the short stories are sent out I want to do a hardboiled mystery novel.
Working on my blog, of course, as well as some freelance articles for the Bay Area Woof. And some articles for the Salem-News where I am now their Staff Travel Writer. Been doing mostly travel articles, pet friendly, and romantic (I co-authored five romantic travel guides years ago)... and also wrote about poverty. I write whatever strikes my fancy at the time and whatever I am assigned :-)
Well, I've had an incredibly fertile and productive run for the last several years and there's a lot in the pipeline. While I'm open to my next grand obsession, I'm mostly focused on selling and getting out there. The most difficult aspect of writing, they don't call it the "loneliest art" for nothing, is the isolation.
Sometimes, you have to resist the gravitational G force of writing and get out there and dance. You can be sure the impulse will return. It always does. There's really no such thing as writer's block, but there are times when a writer just exsanguinates. In those times it's best to know when to set down the pen and go out and live. Life is what happens between books.
Polishing up the sequel to JEMMA, two short stories and a funny mystery play. I also have a fantasy triology sitting, glowering, on my desktop.
I have something like 10 novels and 2 movie scripts I am working on. They are all beasts in their own right and I am slave to their callings and musings.
Right now, my manager and I are working on getting my novella ready to send it over to the publishers.
I just recently sent a manuscript to Jim Belushi and just recently received a letter back.
I am also working on three screenplays. "Gunther's Bad Day" is being shot as we speak, "Today's Special" is in production, and "Liver Damage" is in pre-production.
"Gunther's Bad Day" is a film about a vampire having a really bad day. The story was written by Froy San Pedro.
"Today's Special" is a film about the day in the life of a booth in a diner. It is inspired by an idea by EJ Crawford. This film has four directors.
"Liver Damage" is a film about a period of my life when I tried to drink myself to death after losing the love of my life. It is going to be directed by Brian Porter.
All these films are "Untapped Resources" films.
A non-fiction history of the Quarantine Service in NYC; a short story about a mythical character; poetry; a psychological novel.
I'm working on a Victorian novel set in 1856 just as the first hypodermic needle is being used in medicine.
I am working on editing a novel. Once that is finished, I will continue with a second novel that is also half finished.
I'm working on completing my historical novel The Road To Battle and expect to finish it by March or April, at which time I'll begin the process of polishing and marketing it for publication.
Several short stories and two novels.
I'm currently working on the third installment to my "Jacyn's Journey" series while also putting some time into an offbeat paranormal mystery as well. I anticipate that both will be available sometime within the next six months.
Working on two books: one is based in the sci-fi genre 'Rise of the Supreme' I wrote the original story three years ago but have decided to modify it a little and let the public decide if it is up to par. Also currently putting the finishing touches on a 'The Crime Chronicles'
I'm working on getting my third book published, My Priest, My Husband" and also "savoring" several scenes that will appear in my next novel, tentatively titled, "Excommunicated!"
