Outside of my work as a newspaper editor, a non fic book called Women of Inspiration and a couple of fiction pieces that are giving me trouble.
I'm working on a YA trilogy, Ted In Between. The first novel, 'The Soul Stone' has been completed. The second novel, 'The Riders of Satlel-Ceylon' is in progress and is 60% completed. I've written the beginning and end of the third novel, 'The Raggedy Edge', and expect to begin it in earnest about January 10th and finish it around March 15th.
My childrens' book has just been accepted for publication and I'm planning on illustrating it also. I have more illustrations to my publishing credit than the written word (in fiction) so I'm excited about have a book come out using both creative endeavors.
I'm working on a radio play based on my late father's experiences as a car pooler in New Jersey.
Oh, tons of things. I always work on many things at once and find it hard to focus on just one project. I am writing biographies for two people (even though I much prefer to write on subjects of my own chosing); I'm writing more poetry for a possible second addition to my book "POEMS OF LOVE & MADNESS"; I'm finishing up short stories from ten years ago! My biggest goal is to finish a book I began in the late 1980s. It depends what mood I am in. I also write for newspapers occasionally.
I always have lots and lots of articles to write for three clients. I am also writing a book proposal with Sean Yazbeck, who won The Apprentice a few seasons ago. I am working on another comedy screenplay. Also, on a book-lengh portrait of my father, the late American painter Michael Lenson. I also write a blog, Barry Lenson's Transcendentalism Blog, mostly about Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. I just keep cranking, and I intend to die with my hands on the keyboard. Hopefully, no time soon.
Frankly, until my other books take off, I'm not writing. I have a sequel in mind to my Christian thriller (Plague of Terror) and a very detailed plot outline for the sequel to my fantasy (The Book of Talyara--The Chronicle of Windwalker). They say it took five years before someone took Einstein's book on relativity seriously and then bang!
Halfway through the new novel, involving an illegal zoo in South Jersey, the collapsed local oyster industry, and the ancient culture of the Niger river in Mali. God help me.
I am revising the first edition, first volume of THE UNIVERSAL SEDUCTION, Piercing the Veils of Deception of which I am Chief Editor.
I am working a another mystery, called "No Brainer" based on the same major characters as "Micromurder." I am also working on a fantasy novel.
Freelancing, Freelancing, Freelancing--to pay the bills!
I have just finished a childrens story that I will try to get published, called Kupin. My next project is a science fiction novel set in the near future. I am always working on the Mexican Journals, (see my travel blog site).
I'm working on a show for training purposes, I have two shows to finish and produce in September at a theater in Silverton Oregon, and beginning to work on a show for local network on teens and drugs. Each of those four things are completely different than the next, it should be fun and challenging!
I am working on the novel "The Portrait of a Literay Mind."
I am also revising my Chinese translation of Shakespeare's Sonnets and a few other English classics.
I just finished working on an educational piece and am now writing a series of books about science experiments for children. |
