What are you working on now?
I'm working on a memoir of my life growing up like a gypsy. I generally write novels, so this is new for me.
Editing a book that will come out Sept 2009 and drafting a non-fiction book.
I am working on an in-depth article about the use and abuse of TASERS.
Marketing and promotion of my novel. I have also begun heavy consideration of my next book.
I'm the middle of a short story called "Existentialism In Purgatory" which is about the soul of an aborted child living in purgatory debating with an angel whether or not it would have been better for him to have been born or not.
I'm also seven chapters deep in my novel about growing up where I did. It seems like the real stereotypical route to take as a writer and I feel like such a jackass saying what I'm writing. But it's much deeper than that. I created fictional characters to be where I was and put them through similar conflicts. In a real overview of the book, it's about drugs. And not in a glorifying way but also not in a preachy cautionary way. It's about these character's lives and how drugs are just a side piece to who they are but the drugs are definitely there. There's already chapters where the main character has been on a drug trip and I was tripping when I wrote the piece so it feels authentic, which is all I really wanted. I have big plans for the future of the book though, it delves much deeper into the philosophy of being a thrill seeker, and even a whole side message on the condition of modern day parenting. I try to stay of politics with it but it does go there a few times.
I've shown it to a number of people and I've gotten only positive feedback. I've been told that I'm more entertaining that Kerouac. That's crazy to be told you're more entertaining than Kerouac. I've also been told that I "will be a defining literary voice of my generation" and that my writings "are actually fun to read, not like just staring at a screen but really reading it". It's all pretty flattering, but until it's published and on the New York Times bestseller list, it's just another piece to me.   | | |
I am currently submitting my first novel for representation to agents, while working on my next two novels: an end of the world tale seen through the eyes of two teenagers, and a time-travel/horror/romance story about the length to which a man will go to restore his soul. I am also working on several short stories for my own horror anthology, or for publication in magazines/writing journals.
I got's over forty titles in my catalogue and I'm getting ready to pitch some TV ideas too.
I'm finishing (scratch that), I'm beginning the third novel of the Guilty Series. The final installment will end with "Free from Guilt."
I'm writing an adventure series that involves a few mysteries. I usually write historical fiction and Christian romance, but I wanted to try something different.
I am writing a novel titled Walk Amongst. It is very close to being done, but I still am adding little bits here and there.
My debut poetry collection is coming soon from the San Francisco Bay Press, and my second book is just about finished. I am working on some drawings to be included in the collection. I am already reflecting about my third collection.
"Black Jack", "Ace of Hearts" sequel. I pick up Detective Shevaughn Robinson's story 4 years later.
My life story, to be outlined, over the next two years.
I'm only weeks away from releasing The Acronym (due February 2009). The next project will be a poetry book, due December 2009. After that; another romantic thriller I started writing, and of course, my memoir.
