What sites do you frequent on-line to share experiences or information?

To date I haven't shared experiences or information on-line with anyone. But I do a lot of research on-line.
I write and sell a lot at www.helium.com. It's not so much a sharing of experience or info, but there is a sort of a blog about FAQ's and problems and people do share that way. Nothing formal about it, but when I've got the time I go through it and get caught up with what's new. Some of it can get a bit negative and I try to stay away from the snarkiness.
Actually I have so many internet sites that it’s hard to maintain them all that I usually will just check my e-mails. because there all set to notify me of messages and so forth and then at that point I will update that page.

Critters.org, several writer blogs, Agent blogs, online fiction magazines, and my own blog. I recently picked up twitter and facebook, but I'm finding them very social and distracting so I may have to cut them off.
I do use Wikipedia to start a search and set parameters, then go to original sources whenever possible. Since I write in several genres, the sites and sources vary a great deal. I try to check information with more than one source for accuracy.
There’s so many different sites, I doubt I could even begin to name them. I hang out on message boards a lot. My common haunts are the Permuted Press, Graveside Tales and the Choate Road forums (which can all be found by their website titles, the same as their names.) Webforums are a great way to get information out and share experiences.

I resort often to google and msn for quick answers to needed information as well as to suggestions for further reading. At this point I am about half-and-half engaged between the digital world and the printed world. |
