What sites do you frequent on-line to share experiences or information?

Whohub

I have found that I have time for this only when my immediate projects are few or stale or completely undeveloped. When I have a vision for what I am working on at the time, there is very little time left for frequenting online sites unless they are being used for specific research information.

I don't. Research is my main focus on line

None.

Google and Wikipedia

I recently joined the Romance Writers of America which has a wonderful web site and membership provides all kinds of support to writers, published and unpublished. http://www.rwanational.org/

I am a founding member of the Washington Fiction Writers League, but their site is for info only. http://washingtonfictionwritersleague.com/Home_Page.html

Several of the sites dedicated to writers but nothing can even begin to compare with an amazon.com forum created by my friend and fellow author, Dennis Batchelder. The forum is called "Shameless Self-Promotion By Author: Thriller category". The URL is:

http://www.amazon.com/tag/thriller/forum/ref=cm_cd_ef_tft_tp?%5Fencoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx2QR0B8FFJIDUZ&cdThread=Tx1416R7VW72RLR&displayType=tagsDetail

Although it says "Thriller category" the forum has attracted hundreds of writers from all genres. It is probably the friendliest, most helpful forum of its kind on the internet. Everyone shares virtually everything they know about writing and the experiences (good and bad) that they've encountered pertaining to every aspect of writing and publishing. It's a wonderful online community and all writers (as well as "readers"!) are welcomed with open arms. If you're a writer, you need to be there! :-)

Mostly, I refer to other websites for research purposes. Long live GOOGLE.

I go to writing.com daily, and to myspace as well. I also like to drop in at cafemom.com on occasion.

I frequent writers.net and writing.com, and also keep a Myspace page. I am also working on my own site, where I will have a forum to keep in touch with my readers.

I used to cruise the forums a lot but every serious writer I know had to quit talking about writing and go write.

Hey, wait a second. Why am I . . .

I do not like to join blogs or chat rooms - for the simple reason that I just don't have the time.

I update my website quite frequently. I'm also on facebook and authorsden. There is a nice group of indie authors who share their experiences on an Amazon discussion. I try not to spend too much time with social networking, because it takes away from my time to write. Of course it's important to exchange information, though. Especially as a self-publishing author.

These days: geni.com and facebook.com and Hi5.com. Plus, a yahoo group, which is a private group I created for my writings.
