What sites do you frequent on-line to share experiences or information?
None as yet. But I'm registered at Absolute Write and the Mystery Writers Forum and am in touch with the American Society of Authors and Writers.
netwestmountainwriters blog, other blogs (several listed there), Narrative magazine, North Carolina Writers Network, many others I find from these. Now here, doubtless.
My RWA writing loops.
I do not frequent any on-line writing sites. They are a waste of time.
The main site I frequent is the fellow authors loop provided by my publisher, Swimming Kangaroo Books. I belong to a lot of other loops of writers and readers, but they take so much time I've become more of a lurker than a participant.
myspace, facebook, online forums such as Topix.com etc
My email is the principal site. I have recently started a "blog" to publish some of my short pieces: shanorview.wordpress.com.
none
PoetsWest and facebook. I also post on my blog occasionally.
Mainly I share with my colleagues. I do use the internet incessantly for research.
There are a few that I am currently on (not counting the countless Sims2 sites I lurk on, that's for another interview).
1.) Absolute Write Forum: great place to chat with professionals, both authors and editors. Very nice and helpful admins too.
2.) TwilightSucks: Don't let the name fool you, it's not a hate site for the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. It's a critique/writing/artist/chat forum with 4,000 members from 35 to 13. They are very nice and cordial here, and are more then happy to talk about anything including the series.
3.) Writing-World: Not really a place to share writing experiences, but it does have great articles about writing, publication and promotion.

I am not currently involved in any public writer forum. Not really. I do have pages at WriterFace, Outsider Writers and Writers.net, but haven't recently been able to partake in discussions. I am a member of a few private writer's groups and forums but can't seem to juggle fast enough to make it over to the sites mentioned above.
Writingforums.com and Absolutewrite.com, although I haven't been on for ages.
I belong to Authorsden, myspace and blackplanet. I work crazy hours so trying to keep blogging on a daily basis on these sites is not something I have a lot of time for. I am usually working on a new project, or trying to complete one. |
