Do you write on a computer? Do you print frequently? Do you correct on paper? What is your process?

In the past. i wrote on paper - i have lots of books congaing stuff I've written. But now its more convenient for me to do it on my computer.

I write on the computer, edit on the computer and apply finishing touches on the computer. The computer is my life and when I'm not at my computer and need to write something down I use my iphone. I haven't always used the computer though, I did all my writing in A4 exercise books and if I needed to write something down then I'd use the trusty old notebook but I recognize times and technology are changing and I've actually found lots of software and applications that makes things so much easier. I'm even better organized.

Always on the computer - I alter and add things so many times, it would be impossible otherwise.
I do try to save my work on a memory stick - just in case...

I do all of my work on computer. It's been ages since I printed anything, because my handwriting is atrocious. Word processing documents allow me to find my spelling mistakes, which is handy, and allow me to edit my work easier, which is vital.

Nowadays I write at the computer. I am sixty-six years old and only recently in the past few years have taken to doing so. I wrote with pen/pencil on yellow tablets for all writings during my scientific career (1975 - 2004) as a Professor of Microbiology at LSUHSC-S and for the first few years of writing poetry. Using the computer actually is better for me now.

I print after each poem when writing poetry and after every several chapters when writing a prose book. I still want that hard copy, as I still don't completely trust computers not to lose my work.

Yes, I usually do corrections on a paper copy. Somehow it is still easier for me to spot typo's or problems when reading the print copy than when reading on the computer screen.

The writing process I use is to write the item on the computer, then do a spell check and a grammar check and make any corrections highlighted. Then I print out a hard copy and read it carefully and get my wife to read it. Then I go back to the computer to make a final corrected draft. After several additional readings, I decide I am satisfied with what I have as the final version.

Since the invention of the computer, the word processing program, and the printer, I rarely use a tablet and pen anymore. Everything is sooooo much easier on the computer. I don't usually print anything out until it has reached its final draft form. Printer cartridges are getting more expensive every day. Isn't everything?! For shorter pieces, like short stories or articles, I sometimes do make pen changes on the paper version. But not so much anymore. Most of my changes and revisions are made to the computer file while it is still in the computer.

Because I write film reviews, it is quite easy for me to check my notes and type in a fast way and directly in the computer. Since I send the articles via e.mail, it is quite unusual for me to print them. I read on the display and check there.

For me, writing is a very aesthetic, intimate and seductive activity. I like to have a special and attractive notebook and a fountain pen, but I have not used them for a long time. Generally I carry a notepad and a pen and I write down any idea I get.

I write on paper and on computer. I'm used to writing on paper, which I generally prefer because it is more natural and comfortable to me, but I'm trying to skip that and write on the computer, since it all has to be typed in eventually and it is easier to rewrite and edit this way. For reading, correcting and revising, I like to print it out to read and make notes on.

I write on a computer. SAVE A TREE! DONT PRINT! I correct on a computer, and re-correct and correct again, and re-write and re-write..... I sometimes outline and scribble thoughts down in a notebook, though.

I write on both a PC and a laptop. I don't print, I read on the screen. I use the "narrator" function of Word to have the computer read my text back to me to catch errors and check dialogue.

I fully write on the computer and only print when it's finished. Occasionally, I will read through a print out that I had thought was finished, or maybe that I have an additional idea for, and make some changes. Otherwise, I'm happy writing and editing on the computer. Usually I'll change the viewing format in order to look at the overall project and then bounce back to my normal viewing. I'm very proficient with most word processing programs and set them up specifically for my style. I also took the time to create a pre-formatted file which I use for each story. It has the standard professional submitting requirements formatted in and I will only need to fill in the blanks such as the title, wrod count, genre, etc...

I do write on my computer. I type quite fast, so it works much better than trying to write by hand (my handwriting leaves a lot to be desired). I plot on write-on-wipe-off boards though. And scribble notes for myself on paper. Lots of notes. I don't print frequently, I consider it a waste of paper and I am frugal regarding that. I use yWriter, which breaks down a novel into chapters and scenes so it is easy to visualize and track things. Once things are done, they go to Word so it is easy to find mistakes. Also I'm quite fond of Autocrit for finding overused words and the like.

I write on the computer. The next day I go back over what I wrote the day before to edit. I don't print anything until I'm finished editing.

I find that I cannot just switch on the laptop and start to tap away, my brain just doesn't function. I always love the pen and paper to start the process. I then type it up and start to make all the needed changes. I then have to print and edit with my pen, before transferring back to the screen and so forth...
