WRITING

What do you surround yourself with in your work area in order to help your concentrate?

Whohub

Usually I have something going on in the background like a scary movie or something like that because, well, growing up, I had screaming all around me when I was supposed to be consentrating anyway, what with 7 older brothers and 3 older sisters, there was always some sort of noise going on.

I don't use any props to help me concentrate. My time is so limited, that I write anytime and any place I get the opportunity. So, the surroundings don't actually matter.

Music, coffee, food. and.. to keep on concentrate i don't let myself in crowded.. i write alone..

Poetry books, note books, pens and pencils. When i get stuck or lost. I like to read books by other authors. It gets my creative juice going. It gives my topics to write about. Its gets me thinking.

Jade Sperry (jadedphotography.me)

I have a "wall of fame" which has pictures from my past (family and good friends), pictures that I've taken of bands (my fav pictures) and artistic pictures of water, dance, frogs, Princess Witch Boy, Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. And Jared Leto. That is one man who despite the odds is a good actor and a great musician.

A cup of tea and a macaroon or two. I write in coffee shops with pen and paper.

In nice weather I like to be outside to write and preferably near water. If I'm inside I like a comfy place. I'm still looking for the perfect chair! I need to be alone in a quiet place with no distractions. I like a glass of sweet ice tea ( Maybe because I'm from the south! ) or a big cup of coffee near me when I'm writing!

Books. Art. Silence.

Ideally I need peace and quiet. I wrote best when there is no one about. I like the feel of books around me and a tidy room. I like space to be able to get out maps and books to research sections.

Toys. I have zombie toys, vampire toys, and lots of tiny Hello Kitty Squinkies. I also have a life-sized cardboard cut out of Jackson Pearce's head. Don't ask. Geeze, she's staring at me now. And she's smiling awfully big . . .

My rules for writing:

Write on the "off" hours, late at night.
Quiet, left alone, door shut. Kill internet, if possible.

Alcohol? LOL, seriously, no I don't have a lovely office space or even a decent bloody chair. I can write on a crowded bus at rush hour or sitting in a car in parking lot when I only have five minute. My "work area" is wherever I happen to be.
