Do you believe you have already found "your voice" or is that something one is always searching for?
My voice varies from project to project. Each usually depends on finding the right tone. Once it's found, I can go on from there. If it isn't found, then the piece seems to sputter and lacks coherence. If it isn't found, no matter how much thought background work and research I've put into it, it's a story that doesn't really need and want to be told.
For me, I probably have been trapped in my "voice." I can't escape it.
Yes, I have my own voice, but I believe it is always evolving.
I believe that I have found my voice. I was born with it. The person who I am always changes but my voice and core never waver.
I'm not sure about 'finding my voice' but i do know that the more i write the more i learn which has to have an affect on that voice.
I have no idea of that concept.
Was Hunter S. Thompson writing in "his voice," or was his writing covering up "his real voice?" This question reminds me of conversations around the freshman dorm. Those conversations thwarted my growth for years.
I think I have more than one voice and you never stop learning
Always searching.
I have my voice albeit sometimes I have laryngitis. I have my methods but the writer's voice is like singing a song and you want the right key and pitch for each new tune you sing.
I feel as if I've found it, but I'm always improving it.
I have found my voice.
Always searching. That should be never ending. The learning should never be complete. That would be so boring.
Can one not have found their voice and still search? Am I going to be stuck in this one voice forever or shall I be allowed to shift with the sands of time?
I think voice changes over time. I know that if I were to write some of my early columns again, they wouldn't be the same. But they would still be identifiable as mine, I think. |
