Do you share rough drafts of your writings with someone whose opinion you trust?
No.
Share rough drafts for feedback: Always. For me it is foolish to construct an entire building without finding out first whether the foundation is cracked.
I've recently started to show my rough drafts to a friend who also writes. It's amazing how much you can improve something when you have constructive criticism from someone. I don't always apply all her advice but it's helpful to see what someone else thinks needs improving or tinkering as I call it.
नहीं।
It is necessary. I share if I am satisfied with what I have done.
I totally trust my critiquing partner, Naomi Clark she’s the best.
My amazing writing group I spoke of before sees it all. And my agent.
Absolutely! I like to read my words out loud so I can catch the rythym and flow. I have a few people that I read my work to before it's revised. They aren't afraid to tell me what works and what doesn't!
Yes
some times particularly in gazals
Only with my editer
This will sound strange, but my ex-husband is my editor and I do trust him to be an objective critic. I share them with him.
A rough draft is for me to polish. When it's polished I may share it with the writers' circle for comments or my wife for serious criticism and then do a final refining self-edit.
Always.
My daughter, my best friend, & another author; Reina, Gloria, & Jennifer. These are not 'yes, ladies', they're completely honest. I have the scars to prove it .
By the way, check out Jennifer's work at www.skullybuzz.com I love her work! |
