Do you participate in competitions? Have you received any awards?
I participated in a writing competition for Chicken Soup for the Soul. The competition was for the Everyday American Hero Soul. I submitted an article about my granddaughter who was born with TEF and survived insurmountable odds, but pulled through to be here today. I call her The Littlest Hero. It took 1st Place
I recieved a signed copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul book signed by all the Chicken Soup Authors. Kinda Cool!
I do. I have only honorable mentions so far, but I will continue to try.
I participate in allsorts of competitions.
They were or are mainly poetry competitions but i haven't received any awards.
The competition was too competative but i nearly won an award for the best poem via United Press. My poem reached the final selection.
I hate competitions. I'm a writer, not a dog showing off at Crufts.
OK, so I entered a couple and came nowhere. The pain is still with me.

Yes. I participate in NaNo. I have a blast. A good solid deadline encourages me to work diligently. I have received awards. One of my favorites is for the best Female OC (original character) of the year. That made me proud that one of my fictional characters could have been real in people's eyes.
I have participated in a few contests. My cover art for "Alysa of the Fields" won an award for cover art. The screenplay version of the book was a quarterfinalist in a screenplay competition. I try to keep my stories continually in a competition. Although that can get pretty costly. I have to pace that so that I don't get into trouble.
I send my work out.
I rarely participate in competitions although I would like to do so more often in order to get my work out there into different places. I received a first place poetry award once for a poem I wrote that I particularly loved.
Yes, I recieved a blue or was it red ribbon from the California Association of Newspaper Publishers for my columns in the Del Mar Times.
