Yes, when I finished my book I asked some people to read it. I loved the feedback but unfortunately it left me thinking perhaps I missed the point, and I realized it was just a rough first draft. A little disappointing.
Yes, I love reader's feedback. It helps me reflect on possible problems in the story, which I fix. I am a strong believer in the phrase, "I'm just a human, I make mistakes." A reader's feedback is a very strong peer edit, where I am able to see what others are thinking while reading my story through their eyes. I believe that is a powerful tool that is able to make a story exceed all expectations.
Yes. I love to hear what people think, good or bad. Truthfully, I usually don't sway to 'constructive criticism', but hearing the opinions of my readers helps me improve in areas I need it.
