Does reader feed-back help you?
sometimes cause it helps me make my stories better.
It is odd. I can have 500+ reads and there are rarely comments or feedback. I find if people want to comment they come to me directly on twitter and good criticism is a kind blessing. Harsh criticism is a mixed blessing, I always have to wonder who people are to levy such criticism.
Yes it does. And I hope to get more as my writing develops. I believe my style of writing has improved as a direct result of feedback from past employers, other writers and readers.
I think the best feedback I got was from someone who said she came across an article on a random blog and before she even got to the end where the name of the writer was stated, she already knew that I had written it. She felt I had a style unique to me that she could recognize anywhere. That made me realize that I am indeed heading in the direction that I would like to go. I am still working on it.
Yes, i love to hear what people think or have to say. Everyone brings their personal experiences to a post or article. It is helpful for me to hear if people have had similiar experiences or to give their thoughts or ideas on similiar circumstances.
Sometimes. Especially if's more detailed than "I loved it" or "It sucks eggs."
Reader feedback is incredibly important to me. Since I write erotica I need to know if it actually aroused readers. And since it is also humorous, I want to know if it made them laugh. For me, writing erotica is often a substitute for in person sexual encounters, and, without feedback, this would be a one-sided relationship.
Absolutely. I don't share things with people until I feel proud of them, that I've accomplished what I set out to achieve. Then I remove myself, egotistically, from the piece. I don't take criticism personally. I love getting feedback from others, the good and the bad. I love the insight and the variety of opinions.
Not really. They tend to disagree with me.
Of course, the help me improve my style, vocabulary, viewpoint angle and pacing
Absolutely! Reader's feed-back is most important and appreciated thing to me. It helps me to improve my writing style and to move one step further, every time!
Helps me relax knowing someone has enjoyed my writing when I receive feedback.
Most definitely. Whenever I know that I've made someone laugh or that I've made someone feel what my characters have felt, it lights a fire in me to keep going and to write more.
Any feed-back helps me. I am a dog.
It strokes my ego to know that people enjoy what I write, but it doesn't particularly affect what I write.
Definitely! I would like to make my living full-time from writing someday, so I love seeing how readers gauge my writing. I like seeing how they perceive the subtext I always lace and interweave into my stories, and I enjoy seeing what sort of message comes from that. It's like the telephone game sometimes, as our freedom of choice has led to us having a plethora of interpretations and thoughts. |
