Deep down inside, who do you write for?

Whohub

I write for me, because I enjoy it. I write because I have these characters running around in my head with a story to tell. I write and hope what I have written one day makes me money so I can put more time into telling those stories.

Myself. I currently have two stories on the market, only these two and they were published within the last year although they've been completed for seven. I have several dozen others complete, but the experiences my stories are based on are my own life experiences, so it's a question of whether I want to put "myself" out there, although readers wouldn't necessarily be aware of this fact.

I write because I like to see my characters have their stories told. It gives them a rest in their clamouring inside my head, as it were.

I write for myself. Sometimes I also imagine some of the people I admire most reading my work and admiring me just as much as I admire them.

I don't know. Probably, my mom.

My late father.

Darling, i write for my readers. They pay all my bills and I love them.

I write stories I want to read. If other people want to read them too then I am deeply grateful, particularly if they then tell me they enjoyed the experience. Boring or annoying people is my dread, but of course you can't please/suit everyone.

Let's not go too deep down, else that could be messy. I write for me, first and foremost - nothing beats the feeling of completing a great piece of writing.

Truly I only write for my readers now. When I was younger nearly all of my writing was done for myself--just to satisfy that urge to put words on paper (yes, I'm that old!) and indulge in creativity. Now I see my readers on the other side of the page and I'm talking to them in third person. I use to be on the radio as a 'disc jockey' and I would picture my audience as they did various things while listening and it worked really well in terms of connecting with them as if I was talking to them personally--both of us felt like it was a real discussion. It's kind of like that when I'm writing--I'm not picturing my readers doing anything but reading, but I want the work to speak to them, to make them want to read it--I'm trying to connect with their minds in terms of entertainment. Hopefully, they'll remember a book or two--then I'll have achieved my goals.

I write to convey ides or stories that have enthralled or astounded me. I am definitely not someone who writes only for myself. I want to share my writing with an audience.

My soul,I write for the feeling of artistic completion . If I can make a few parents cry, and smile with my stories I am doing a great job.

For myself and my wife.

I write for myself. I'm a tough critic, and if I'm not entertaining myself while I'm writing, then I know what I'm writing is no good at all!

If I'm honest, I suppose I write primarily for myself. The exception would be my transgender stories. I write those in honour of my princess/pain-in-the-ass/girlfriend, who is herself a transwoman. It means a lot to us both to see published stories of love involving authentic portrayals of transgender characters. Many of my transgender stories incorporate sexuality, but without fetishizing the trans body as much as many "trannie" porn stories do.
